CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning across our entire area in effect from 4 pm Friday until 7 am Sunday.
Extreme Cold Warnings are in effect Saturday evening into Sunday as wind chills could fall be 0 degrees.
Frost bite and hypothermia are concerns through the weekend. If you’re planning to go out, make sure all skin is covered.
THREE BIG THINGS
- There will be a sweet spot for higher snow accumulations around Charlotte. Up to 10”+ possible.
- This is all snow. No ice.
- Travel and road conditions will be our greatest impact.
- All day Saturday.
It’s been over four years since our last 1″ snowfall in the Queen City – EIGHT years since our last 3″ accumulation. As of Saturday morning at 10 am, we are closing in on 3” in spots and still have an all day snow event.
