South Carolina health officials reported 13 new measles cases since Friday, one of which was confirmed in Lancaster County.

The new cases bring the current outbreak to 933 with 235 people in quarantine and six in isolation.

SCDPH confirmed one case in Lancaster County but is still investigating the source for this case. Officials confirmed it is a Lancaster County resident and that no public exposures have been identified related to this case.

Exposures from the new cases have happened at Libertas Academy (nine in quarantine) and Inman Intermediate (fewer than five in quarantine). Additionally, 23 individuals are in quarantine from Lyman Elementary School.

Of the 933 confirmed cases, 859 were unvaccinated, 20 were partially vaccinated, 25 were vaccinated, and 29 are unknown.

Health officials say the best way to prevent measles and stop the outbreak is to get vaccinated.
