2 men charged with cutting telephone wires in Alexander Co.
Two men are facing charges for allegedly cutting down telephone wires in Alexander and Davidson counties, according to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
Alexander County deputies received a call from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office about a bucket truck that was used to cut down telephone wires.
Following an investigation, deputies executed a search warrant at a home off Devils Track Road in Alexander County. At the residence, they found evidence of several incidents of stolen telephone wire in Alexander and Davidson counties.
David Stafford, 53, and David Vetter, 42, were arrested. They have been charged with larceny, obtaining property by false pretense, injuring utility wires, and injury to property to obtain nonferrous metal.
Stafford was also served other felony warrants and is being held without bond, deputies said.
