CMPD makes arrest in Charlotte’s first murder of 2026
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An arrest has been made in Charlotte’s first murder of 2026. It happened the evening of January 5th on Carol Avenue in west Charlotte. Officers say 24-year-old Kishmere Wright was killed in that shooting.
Now, they’ve arrested 21-year-old Taylen Barbour. He’s accused of pulling the trigger. Officers have not revealed a possible motive in that deadly attack.
