Early voting in Mecklenburg County continues in March primary

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Day two of early primary voting in Mecklenburg County has come to an end, and we’re getting a first-look at the turnout.

There are a lot of big races to follow ahead of the mid-term election in November. That includes the senate contest to replace retiring Republican North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis. Mecklenburg County elections officials say so far, there’s been a good turnout at the polls. Mecklenburg County Board of Elections director Michael Dickerson says, “Allegra’s (Westbrooks Regional Library) busy. SouthPark has been busy, too, so we’ve got some really good sites. Get out there and vote.”

In total, Mecklenburg County elections officials say nearly 5,000 residents have already cast their early ballots.
