CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is opening up about the pain that shaped him long before the fame. In a new interview, Ramsay is reflecting on what he calls a dysfunctional childhood, marked by poverty, instability, and a difficult relationship with his alcoholic father.

He says those early struggles fueled his relentless drive and taught him to never take success for granted. Ramsay says that trauma made him determined to be a better father to his own six kids.
