Man arrested for robbing bank in Hickory, police say
HICKORY, N.C. – A 50-year-old man was arrested after robbing a Wells Fargo bank in Hickory on Tuesday, according to the Hickory Police Department.
Around 3:10 p.m., police were called to the Wells Fargo on 12th Avenue NE in Hickory about a reported robbery. The suspect, Joel Viera, left before police arrived but was arrested around 4:40 p.m one mile away from the bank on 16th Street NE, police said.
No one was injured related to this incident.
Viera was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held at the Catawba County Detention Center without bond.
