Rock Hill Police investigating after 18-year-old is found shot dead in parking garage

UPDATE

A 16-year-old girl has been charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting at a parking garage in Rock Hill on Friday, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.

According to police, the 16-year-old and Za’Veon Heath conspired to rob a 15-year-old boy at gunpoint in the parking deck on Elizabeth Lane.

During the exchange, the 15-year-old used a pistol to shoot and kill Heath.

The 16-year-old was charged with armed robbery and criminal conspiracy for her role in the robbery. She was also charged with murder due to her involvement in a violent felony that resulted in the death of another, police said.

The 15-year-old has been charged with possession of a pistol by a person under 18.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Both minors are in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – A 19-year-old is dead after an early-morning shooting. Officers say Za’Veon Heath was killed at a parking garage just off of East Main Street around 2:30 Friday morning. He died at the scene.

Right now, there’s still now word on whether Rock Hill Police have any suspects. They are still investigating.
