MORGANTON, N.C. — Authorities arrested a Morganton man after he reportedly called in a bomb threat to a local property owner.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office immediately called in the SBI and a search was conducted on the Misti Brooke Lane property. Authorities say no explosive device was located.
John Pons, Sr. was named a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued on February 20th. He was taken into custody two days later at the Catawba Memorial Hospital.

He now faces a felony false bomb report charge. He was issued a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 23rd.
