STONY POINT, N.C. βΒ One person died from an early morning fire at a mobile home park in Alexander County on Thursday, according to the Alexander County Sheriffβs Office.
Just before 8 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire with possible entrapment at a mobile home park off Micky Hager MHP Drive in Stony Point.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy fire conditions throughout the structure and were told that someone was still inside. Firefighters entered the residence and located 64-year-old Sandra Duke in a bedroom.
The victim received life-saving measures after being removed from the home but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple fire departments responded to put out the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
