Motorcyclist killed in north Charlotte crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  A motorcyclist died days after a crash in north Charlotte last weekend, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

It happened around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21 on West Sugar Creek Road near Old Potters Road. Upon arrival, officers located a motorcyclist, 56-year-old Reginald Stowe, unresponsive with life-threatening injuries. Officers also located a Jeep Grand Cherokee and two other occupants who were not injured.

Police said that Stowe, operating a Suzuki motorcycle, was driving west on West Sugar Creek Road at a high rate of speed and collided with the Jeep.

Stowe was transported to the hospital but died Thursday from his injuries.Β 

It is unknown if impairment was a factor for Stowe, police said. The Jeep driver was screened and was not impaired, according to police.
