Soggy Thursday, warm & sunny weekend ahead

The clouds stick around through Friday, but this weekend looks wonderful.

Happy Friday Eve! Get ready for a nasty morning commute as widespread rain blankets much of the Carolinas this Thursday. Most locations will receive at least a half-inch of rain through the afternoon before the moisture clears to the southeast later in the evening. While a few isolated showers may roll through our southeastern counties overnight into Friday morning, the vast majority of the WCCB Charlotte remains dry through the final day of the workweek. That said, the clouds will stick around through much of the day, keeping highs checked in around 60Β°.

Plentiful sunshine erupts across the Carolinas as we slide into the weekend. The bright skies and calm winds will allow highs to roar back near 70Β° for February’s final day on Saturday. Expect an even warmer day on Sunday; highs will likely rise into the mid-to-upper 70s for most around the Metro.

Enjoy the warm & sunny days while they last! Another sharp cold front will poke through the Southeast by the start of next week, bringing another cold snap as we kick off March. The American model is suggesting some wintry weather may visit the NC Piedmont early next week, but a cold rain is a safer bet right now. Regardless of what happens within the Monday-Wednesday timeframe, much warmer air swells back into the Carolinas by the end of next week.
