Drivers see biggest one day jump in gas prices since Hurricane Katrina in 2005
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As the war in Iran continues, here at home, drivers are seeing the biggest one-day jump in gas prices since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The national average is 11-cents higher on Tuesday compared to Monday. That brings the price most drivers are paying for regular gas across the country to $3.11 per gallon.
The spike follows the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route, and retaliatory strikes from Iran, targeting oil infrastructure in several U.S. allied countries.
