I-85 South reopens after deadly accident in Concord
CONCORD, NC – Two people died and two others were injured in a serious accident that shutdown all southbound lanes on I-85 Friday morning.
The highway shutdown around 5 a.m. between exit 49 at Concord Mills Boulevard and Bruton Smith Boulevard and exit 52 at Poplar Tent Road.
Medic confirmed that two people died and two more were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
It is unclear what caused the accident at this time. We are working to learn more about what led up to the crash.
I-85 southbound reopened just before 11 a.m.
