The Edge: Michael Jordan enters the “GOAT” chat

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The GOAT of the NBA debate just got a little more interesting. Michael Jordan is finally chiming in. The six-time champ says the “Greatest Of All Time” argument is basically impossible, because you can’t truly compare eras. Jordan says he never faced legends like Oscar Robertson or Jerry West, and today’s stars never had to deal with him in his prime.

But MJ admits one thing: the competitor in him would’ve loved to go toe-to-toe with LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant at their peak.

He says, “I never played against Oscar Robertson or Jerry West. Would’ve loved to, absolutely loved to, just the competitor that I am. And I actually learned from them. We paved the road to the Kobes and LeBrons, right? And to me, that’s the beauty of the game of basketball, that a player after a previous player has evolved the game further. It is an empty comparison, you will absolutely never find the true answer to that question.”
