After contract and equipment delays, new traffic light near school is scheduled for install
FORT MILL, S.C. – Fort Mill leaders say a new traffic light is coming to the intersection of Nims Village Drive and Fort Mill Parkway, after being delayed. It’s to help with a growing traffic problem near Catawba Ridge High School.
District leaders say contract and equipment delays impacted the initial timelines. But now, installation is set to begin on or before May 1, 2026.
The district says a Fort Mill Police officer will remain stationed at the intersection to manage morning and afternoon traffic flow until the traffic signal is fully operational.
They say they hope it will make things safer for students, staff and residents in the area.
