UNION COUNTY, N.C. – Students and staff at Weddington High School were evacuated after a potential threat was discovered on campus Thursday.
According to Union County Public Schools, school staff identified the threat and quickly contacted law enforcement.
As a precaution, the building was cleared.
District officials said they did not believe the threat was credible, but said that they were taking it seriously and following safety protocols.
No threat was found, and the school day has resumed.
An investigation is still ongoing.
