Meck. Co. Sheriff taps primary opponent to be his new Chief Deputy

MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. – Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden says he’s picked his new chief deputy for his new term in office. It’s his former primary opponent, Ricky Robbins. Robbins will take the reigns of chief deputy at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office effective April first.

McFadden won nearly 34 percent of the vote in the March primary. Robbins won just over 31 percent.

The new Chief Deputy Robbins brings over 40 years of law enforcement experience to his new role.
