Weddington High School searched Thursday morning after potential threat

WEDDINGTON, N.C. – The Union County Sheriff’s Office said that Weddington High School was back to “normal operation” Thursday evening, after being placed on lockdown that morning.

Union County Sheriff’s deputies say the safety measure was a precaution after an anonymous threat was received from a tipster. Investigators and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the school and the property and found nothing.

An investigation is still ongoing into where that threat came from.
