CMPD: Woman found shot dead inside apartment doorway

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after deadly shooting in north Charlotte.

The call came in just before 9:30 Friday morning. Officers say someone shot into an apartment on High Glen Drive, killing 35-year-old Alisha Lewis, who was inside.

CMPD Major Brad Koch says, “They did locate a victim inside, just inside the doorway. We do believe that this shooting actually happened sometime late last (Thursday) night.”

So far, no word from CMPD on whether they have any suspects or what may have led up to the violence. If you have any information that could help detectives with their investigation, call police.
