CLEVELAND CO., N.C. – The Cleveland County Health Department confirms two skunks have tested positive for rabies.
Officials say they were found on Five Points Road in Shelby.
These are the eighth and ninth rabies cases in the county this year.
CCHD was also notified that a fox found on Padgett Road tested positive back on March 30th.
Any person exposed to potentially infectious saliva from an animal should contact their healthcare provider or CCHD for a rabies risk assessment.
