Driver killed on I-77 after exiting disabled Jeep

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Troopers are investigating a fatal collision that happened on I-77 Friday morning in Rock Hill.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. on I-77 North near mile marker 82. This is just north of Rock Hill near Cherry Road and Celanese Road.

Troopers said a Jeep Wrangler, towing a utility trailer, was disabled in the middle of the highway and that the driver was outside of the vehicle. The driver was hit by a northbound Jeep Renegade, according to the highway patrol.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

No additional details were released. This collision remains under investigation.
