SALISBURY, N.C. – A woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting her husband with a vase, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 2 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a home on Meadow Lane in Salisbury. Deputies said 58-year-old Yorleni Shoff called 911 that her husband, 93-year-old Richard Shoff, was bleeding on the floor of their home.
Upon arrival, deputies said they found a significant amount of blood in the home, suggesting an assault took place. Richard was found not responsive and was transported to the hospital with severe head injuries.
Deputies obtained a search warrant and seized a broken vase they believe was used as a weapon.
Yorleni was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and the crime of domestic violence. Richard remains in critical condition.
