Concord, Kannapolis update mandatory water restrictions

Concord and Kannapolis have made a change to their mandatory water restrictions currently in place.

According to a news release, customers may now use soaker hoses and drip irrigation to water gardens any day of the week. They can use a watering can or a garden hose to water gardens as long as they are holding the hose and controlling the water.

Previously, customers could only water outside gardens on two designated days of the week. The updated restrictions now align with other regional partners, including Charlotte Water.

Customers may still top off their swimming pools and use commercial car washes.

The mandatory water restrictions still prohibit washing vehicles at home, and no pressure washing unless it’s done by a professional pressure washing company. Washing of public buildings, sidewalks, and streets is also prohibited.
