Ebola outbreak risk upgraded to ‘very high’

The World Health Organization has upgraded the Ebola outbreak risk to “very high” as the disease keeps spreading.

The outbreak in Central Africa has now been declared a public health emergency.

There are now 750 suspected areas and 177 suspected deaths, though more are expected as surveillance expands.

While the global risk remains low, the outbreak has triggered the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to issue a 30-day travel ban in the U.S.
