Spotify reserving concert tickets for fans

Spotify is making it easier for people to see their favorite bands and singers in person.

The streaming service is setting aside tickets for superfans.

Spotify will use streams and shares to pick the people who will be eligible for this offer.

“We’ll identify real fans based on factors like streams, shares, and other Spotify activity, and will also monitor the activity of Premium users to ensure these are real human fans and not bots,” the platform said in a statement.

Spotify says availability will vary by artist, tour, and location. 

If eligible, Spotify Premium users will receive an email and an in-app notification. The fans who are selected will have a set amount of time to buy the tickets if they want them.
