Driver killed in Lancaster County crash

KERSHAW, S.C. – One person died after crashing into a tree in Lancaster County on Saturday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on US 601 near Little Dude Avenue, approximately one mile north of Kershaw, South Carolina.

Troopers said the driver, operating a 2006 Lexus GS300, was traveling north on US 601. The vehicle went off the road to the left and struck a tree.

The driver was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unclear if speed or impairment was a factor in the crash.
