Police: 17-year-old girl shot, injured near Charlotte Airport Overlook

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 17-year-old girl was hurt in a shooting near the Airport Overlook in southwest Charlotte. According to a police report, it happened just after two on Friday morning.

The girl says three people who she didn’t know fired multiple shots. She was hit once. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. There’s no word on her condition.

A spokesperson for Charlotte Douglas Airport says the shooting was not connected to the airport, but happened in the “general vicinity” of the Overlook, which closes each night at 10 pm.
