Local nonprofit celebrates major milestone that will allow them to help more families

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A local nonprofit is celebrating a major milestone. Beds for Kids officially opened its new north Charlotte warehouse on Thursday. This, as the organization marks 15 years of service in the Charlotte community. What started with a few donated beds in a garage has grown into a full-scale furniture bank. The organization’s Executive Director says this warehouse will allow them to help more families.

Zach Smith says, “I’m so excited. It’s been a long journey to get to this point, but just to know that when we roll out of here today, families are going to start getting blessed with beds and furniture. We’re so excited.”

The organization says their impact has doubled over the last four years, growing from about 700 families served annually to an expected 1,400 families this year.
