3 arrested after Huntersville domestic violence dispute leads to gunfire

Three men were arrested following a shooting that stemmed from a domestic violence incident in Huntersville, according to police.

Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a home on Magnolia Walk Drive near Statesville Road in regards to shots fired.

Police said a fight broke out from an earlier domestic violence incident at the home and that two of the suspects opened fire at other individuals attempting to leave in a vehicle.

Several rounds reportedly struck the fleeing vehicle. Two nearby occupied homes were also hit, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Officers secured the scene and took three men, 20-year-old Demontaye Sturdivant, 25-year-old Dominikus Sturdivant, and 20-year-old Rodney Miller, into custody.

Demontaye and Dominikus were each charged with five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Miller was charged with assault by strangulation, assault on a female, and domestic violence.

All three men were taken to Mecklenburg County Jail.
