A pedestrian died after being hit by a train in Hickory, according to police.
Officers responded to Union Square and Hickory Station around 4:45 p.m. Thursday. Police said an eastbound train hit the pedestrian that was crossing the tracks toward Union Square.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
