Texas man charged in Mooresville shooting

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – A Texas man was arrested in connection to a shooting in Mooresville on Thursday, according to the Mooresville Police Department.

Police said a 46-year-old man was shot around 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Serviceberry Way near Cornelius Road. He received treatment at the scene before being transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

What led up to the shooting is unclear at this time.

The suspect, 36-year-old Benjamin Guerrero, of Saginaw, Texas, was detained at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and charged with assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
