Extradition hearing for accused Sun Drop murders suspect

PORT ANGELES, WA – The man accused in the 2008 “Sun Drop murders” is closer to being sent back to North Carolina for trial. Johnny Talbert waived his right to fight extradition while appearing in a Washington state courtroom on Wednesday.

Washington officials have received the governor’s warrant that clears the way for Talbert’s return to Cabarrus County, where he will face murder charges.

Talbert was arrested in May in Port Angeles, Washington for the murders. Investigators say he killed Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles during a robbery at the Sun Drop Bottling plant.
