CMPD makes 21 additional arrests in operation to clean up Sugar Creek area
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Another step to cleaning up the most dangerous part of Charlotte. CMPD made 21 more arrests as part of their Sugar Creek sting. Those arrests were made last week.
It’s been about a month since police and federal agents targeted the Garden Inn on Reagan Drive. That crackdown started this series of arrests. We talked to a Sugar Creek business owner after the Garden Inn sting who said he’s hopes police will continue with the operation. Ron Zarek says, “My people were excited to say something good is happening in Sugar Creek and on Reagan. And the work that we’ve all been doing is paying off because we all feel safer.”
From June 15 through the 21st, CMPD made 48 traffic stops, arrested 21 people, wrote seven citations and seized five illegal guns.
