Son charged after mother found dead

 

MONROE, N.C. – The Charlotte–Mecklenburg Police Department advised Union County deputies that a male, Slava Pak had arrived at one of their facilities and wanted to turn himself in after confessing to committing a crime.

At the request of CMPD, Union County deputies responded to a Waxhaw residence to perform a welfare check. After attempting to contact the individual inside, they performed a search and found what appeared to be a person lying on the floor.

Deputies entered the residence and located an adult female, Larisa Pak, deceased with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Larisa Pak was later identified as the mother of Slava Pak.

While investigating the scene, Chester County Sheriff’s Office was actively investigating another shooting incident in connection to Slava Pak. The victim of the incident survived.

Pak was arrested in Union County and charged with first–degree murder. He is currently being held at the Union County Detention Center without bond.
