Kannapolis Police Chief announces he will retire after three decades of service
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Kannapolis Police Chief is retiring after more than three decades of service. Terry Spry joined the department in 1994, working his way up from patrol officer to Chief in 2020.
During his tenure, he prioritized community trust, helping found the BRIDGE grassroots group dedicated to examining and discussing social and civic issues, and leading the agency to earn prestigious national accreditation.
His last official day on the job will be September 29.
