Huntersville homes, apartments damaged by fallen trees as severe storms roll through area

Thunderstorms moved through the area Friday night, causing damage to homes and apartment buildings in Huntersville.

A tree fell and heavily damaged a home in the Wynfield community. No one was injured, but the home was significantly damaged.

Another tree fell on an apartment complex in Huntersville, as well. The tree damaged some balconies, but fortunately, no one was hurt.

Heavy thunderstorms moved through the area with first responders responding to numerous weather-related calls.

Thousands of residents across Mecklenburg County are without power due to the storm, according to Duke Energy.
