West Charlotte neighbor rescues man trapped in car by fallen tree

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Strong storms moved through our area on Friday night. A tree crashed into a home on Revolution Park Drive in west Charlotte. The homeowner says he went outside to move his car after seeing the tree swaying in the wind. The tree then fell on his house and on the car, trapping him inside. A neighbor who helped rescue him talked with us.

West Charlotte resident Margaret Angel Cox says, “I tried to open up the passenger door and it was stuck. So I opened up the back door and we got him out of the car, but he was mostly okay. He had a few cuts and scrapes and stuff like that, but he was still alive.”

The man’s wife, Maggie Black, says, “I know God is good because we still standing here today and I don’t have a tear to get to nobody or none of that. I’m just grateful and thankful for everything that God has already done and what He continues to do.”
