15-year-old girl dies after Friday night shooting into car on Independence Blvd.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An east Charlotte shooting has turned deadly after a 15-year-old girl lost her life Tuesday. The shooting happened Friday night along Independence Boulevard. Investigators say two teenage girls were shot and drove themselves to the hospital.

On Tuesday, detectives announced 15-year-old Ya-Monnie Houston died from her injuries. The second victim remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition.
