New billboards go up in Gastonia in effort to find local man’s killers

GASTONIA, N.C. – There are two new billboards in Gastonia. Police are hoping they spark new leads in a murder that happened nearly five years ago. John Luke Moore was killed during a home invasion in Gastonia. He was a well-known barber in the area.

Investigators released video showing the moments just before the murder of 32-year-old Moore. You can see three people storm into Moore’s home on Allison Avenue on July 26th, 2021. One of the three is carrying an umbrella.

Family members say they are still waiting for answers, telling WCCB, “We still have a hole in our hearts, a void in our lives, a laugh we will no longer here, a smile we will no longer see.”

A $35,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest in this case.
