MAIDEN, N.C. – An investigation is underway after a two-year-old drowned at a home in Catawba County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded around 9:12 p.m. Monday night to a home on High Ridge Circle in Maiden, North Carolina in regards to a reported drowning involving a two-year-old child. The sheriff’s office, Catawba County EMS, and the Maiden Police Department responded to the scene.
Life-saving efforts were administered, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are working to learn more about the events leading up to the call.
