CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A driver is facing charges after a crash in Salisbury left three people dead, according to police.
It happened around 10:45 p.m. Saturday on NC 150 near Town Court.
When officers arrived at the scene, police said they found a vehicle with three critically injured occupants. Two of the individuals died at the scene. The third was transported to the hospital where they later died.
Police said the second vehicle involved in the crash was found in a creek bed nearby. The driver, Javiel Pena Sola, was found and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation, police charged Sola with three counts of felony hit and run involving serious injury or death.
The events leading up to the crash are unclear at this time.
The Salisbury Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is still investigating the collision. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues, police said.
