Honeywell hosts NASDAQ closing bell live from its Charlotte headquarters on Thursday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A special honor for a Charlotte-based company. Honeywell Technologies hosted the NASDAQ closing bell live from its Uptown headquarters Thursday afternoon.

It comes after Honeywell split into three companies last month, with the Charlotte-based firm focusing on building and industrial automation.

The company’s CEO says it’s customers are dealing with the impact of a lack of skilled workers. Vimal Kapur says, “So our customers are looking at one of the two things, either looking at some portion of the work can be automated so they need less such people or we provide them tools so that a lesser skilled person can do the job, what a higher skill person used to do.”

Honeywell says it’s created 1,100 jobs in Charlotte over the past six years.
