17-year-old motorcyclist dies after Saturday night wreck on I-85

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A teen motorcyclist had died after a crash on I-85. State Highway Patrol troopers say 17-year-old Alex Rodriguez was thrown from his motorcycle after being hit by two speeding cars.

It happened just after 7:30 Saturday night in the south bound lanes near the Sugar Creek exit. The driver of one of the cars was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There’s no word yet if anyone will face charges.
