Woman accused of stealing nearly $10K from local church cemetery fund

IREDELL CO., N.C. – A woman is accused of stealing nearly $10,000 from her church’s cemetery fund. 58-year-old Jamie Shore is charged with four counts of felony embezzlement.

Investigators say Shore wrote checks from the cemetery fund account at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Iredell County to make $9,700 in personal purchases.

Detectives say members of the church reached out to the Sheriff’s Office after noticing suspicious activity involving the account.
