Investigators say statutory rape suspect met victim on Snapchat

An Iredell County man is charged with the statutory rape of a child he allegedly met on Snapchat.

Deputies arrested 22-year-old Christian Sievers after the victim contacted the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. The alleged incidents happened on two separate occasions during the weekends of June 27 and July 3, the sheriff’s office said.

Sievers is charged with four counts of statutory rape of a child, six counts of statutory sexual offense to a child, 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and five counts of indecent liberties with a child.

A warrant says the victim is 15 years old or younger.
