CMPD makes arrest after multi-car crash and deadly shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD has made an arrest after a deadly shooting and multi-car crash in Uptown Charlotte over the weekend. 38-year-old Rondreaus Cureton is facing several charges including murder, robbery, and felony hit and run.

Police say they arrived to find a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of East 5th Street and North McDowell. It happened just after 1:00 Sunday morning. Four people were taken to the hospital, including a man found shot. 37-year-old Erick Holman died at the hospital.

Cureton was arrested about 40 minutes later after a brief pursuit. Police aren’t looking for any other suspects.
