Murder suspect dies after shooting, killing his 19-year-old girlfriend while she drove on I-77

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Police say the suspect in a deadly shooting on I-77 in Mooresville has now died. 23-year-old J’kobe Ramseur had been charged with first degree murder.

Investigators say Ramseur’s 19-year-old girlfriend, Justice Wells, was driving near exit 35 on July 26th when he shot her from the passenger seat before shooting himself.

Investigators say the couple had a history of domestic violence. Text messages from that morning detailed Ramseur talking about a murder-suicide pact.
