CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has made an arrest after terrifying videos on social media show a man assaulting and chasing women who walk by him on the street.
One video was taken outside The Paper Skyscraper in Dilworth. A women is seen being punched on the sidewalk. She was taken to the hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
CMPD arrested 32-year-old Di-Quan Schafar Hunt Thursday night. They took him to a medical facility for treatment. Once he’s released from there, he’ll be transferred to the Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Office and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
We checked, and Hunt has been arrested multiple times in Mecklenburg County over the past few years for assault on a female, domestic violence, violating restraining orders multiple times, and more. The mugshot in this story is from his arrest in December 2025, for second degree trespassing, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats and carrying a concealed weapon.
