Mecklenburg Co. names Dr. Kimberly Scott new Director of Public Health

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dr. Kimberly Scott has officially been named the new Director of Public Health for Mecklenburg County. County Manager Mike Bryant announced the appointment Wednesday.

Dr. Scott has been serving as the department’s interim director since January, following the departure of former director Dr. Raynard Washington.

In her new permanent role, Dr. Scott will oversee nearly 1,000 employees and manage all public and environmental health operations across the county.
